ABOUT
Hanmarié Lombaard is a Counselling Psychologist in Bethlehem, Free State. Her well-established practice is known in Bethlehem and the surrounding area for assessments and psychotherapy of children and adolescents; adult psychotherapy; parental guidance; marriage counselling and study guidance.
She was introduced to the field of psychology by her father, who was an Educational psychologist. She knew from an early age that she wanted to be part of positive changes in people’s lives.
Hanmarié was employed as an Educational Specialist at the Department of Education (Free State) from January 2000 to April 2007. She has been practicing as a private Counselling Psychologist since then, allowing her some flexibility with her own three children. She is also involved with group psychotherapy at a sub-acute psychiatric hospital in Bethlehem (Mondia Wellness Centre).
She gets involved in the community by assisting children in the Children’s Homes of the area or children who are being referred by Schools or Welfare Institutions, at a reduced tariff.
Hanmarié sees herself in a privileged position to be a witness to people’s therapeutic processes and to have the opportunity to create a positive impact in their lives.
Qualifications
Hanmarié obtained her B.Soc.Sc (Psychology) degree at the University of the Free State in 1996 (Cum laude); her B.Soc.Sc Honours (Psychology) degree in 1997 (Cum Laude) and her M.Soc.Sc (Counselling Psychology) degree in 1999. She continues to equip herself with extra short courses and workshops, with her main focus on Solution Focused Therapy; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and the Assessment of Children.
Registrations
Hanmarié is registered at the Human Professions Council of South Africa (Psychology Board) and complies to all the Continued Professional Development requirements of the HPCSA.
